Story

The game emphasizes freedom, allowing players to explore the world and race through its environments at their own pace. While there isn’t a deeply narrative-driven story, the main "plot" is the player's rise through the ranks of the Motorfest, taking on various racing challenges and meeting other drivers along the way.
Unlike previous entries in the series, which featured a larger, overarching storyline with characters and missions, Motorfest focuses more on the festival itself, offering a more relaxed approach with a wide range of customizable events and activities for the players to enjoy.

Gameplay

The Crew Motorfest is set in a scaled-down version of the islands of Oʻahu and Maui in Hawaii. It is themed around a festival that will serve as the main area for accessing the various events in the game, which is similar to that of the Forza Horizon series of games. Its gameplay is similar to that of the previous games in the series, featuring online multiplayer features referred to in game as a "crew", as well as being able to control vehicles other than cars such as planes and boats.
The main part of the game is "Playlists", which consist of a series of staged events, side activities, and challenges. As of September 2023, there are fifteen playlists, each with a different theme such as vintage cars, Lamborghini and collaborations with influencers such as Supercar Blondie, Liberty Walk and Donut Media.
