Cairn - PC

Cairn is a survival climber in which the player controls Aava, a professional mountaineer attempting to become the first person to summit Mount Kami. The climb is not presented as a heroic spectacle, but as a careful, methodical struggle against terrain, fatigue, and decision-making. As Aava ascends the mountain, she uncovers remnants of previous expeditions and environmental clues that reveal the mountain’s history and the cost of pursuing its peak. These discoveries force Aava to reflect on her motivation and determine what sacrifices she is willing to make to continue.

The game is played from a third-person perspective and focuses heavily on realism. Players must study the rock face to plan viable routes, rather than following predefined paths. Each of Aava’s limbs is controlled individually, requiring precise placement and constant adjustment. Progress depends on maintaining balance, posture, and stamina. Overextending an arm or leg, or remaining in an unstable position for too long, increases the risk of slipping and falling.
